Description:  Barra was made from three upon three creatures (9). She has the form of a shadow elf with their black skin and hair. She also has the red eyes and sharp white teeth of the drow as well as the wings and barbed tail of a shadow dragon. She is of human size and extremely beautiful. Often the only thing one sees of Barra is her red eyes and white smile before she sucks the soul out of their body. As a Keeper she was always hunger and figured that mortal beings had no use for their souls. Often she would leave her victims to wander about still alive but uncaring for others. Either they would die or become cruel tyrants causing pain and suffering on others.

Barra phases in and out of the shadow plane to the corporal world so much of the time part of her is only a slight outline while others are very solid. She is totally nude with only two exceptions. A necklace of shadow and the red tattoos along her arms and legs that appear as the 300 year cycle of the goddess draws near. But since she is now a goddess in her own right and the cycle is no more they are her badges of honor.

She is so black that it often takes people a while looking at her to realize she is naked. Her wings are stuff of shadows and while huge often phase out to just tattered outlines at the edges. Her long tail is like that of a cat’s only it is covered in hairy scales that end in a barb that drips green venom. Her tail is never still and is always wagging or held up like a scorpion’s ready to strike. It will strike if someone touches it or if she is trying to stop her prey. The venom renders the victim paralyzed but they are very much aware of her actions much to their horror. Barra has no shame for her form and cannot understand why some folks try to cover her up. Clothing is a total mystery to her since she never feels hot or cold.

Barra is very much like an evil house cat playing with a mouse. She is very evil and uses an innocent child like tone to her very sexual exotic voice when asking questions or causing trouble but she is far more than what you see there is an intelligence that has kept her alive for thousands of years and help to keep the drow at each other’s throats. She has three main personalities that of a insane shadow elf, a matronly drow priestess and a very wise dragon. These three personalities are all that survived the blending of nine creatures to form a Keeper of Shadows.

While Barra can appear on the surface she tries to keep a low profile and will often channel through the Herald. She can appear also as any of her aspects.

Description:

The sisters rule, primarily, from the underdark. They are often referred to as one, though they are two distinct deities.

Lox'ceri looks like a very young and delicate elven creature with glowing red eyes. Her hair is loosely held up and slightly beaded and braided. Her jewelry is make to look like spiders or webbing and is covered in Amertrines her favorite gemstone. Her gown also reflexes her love of purple and orange and shows off her figure very well. She often has a smirk playing on her lips as she plots some way to use those who serve her. Attached to her back are eight very ornately decorated spider legs that supports her form. Several of the limbs have beautiful metal work that is also very deadly.  Crawling throughout her hair and along her limps are many small spiders. Each represents a house of the underworld that she controls.

Lox'ceri unlike Barra can not bring her form to the surface. Instead she channels through whoever is the current Herald. Otherwise the goddess is bound to the underworld there she plots and makes plans to someday send her people to the surface and take over.

The goddess while in some cases very old over all she is one of the youngest gods of this world. She is still learning her way around as is her sister Barra.

Note: Barra Alti’ui one of eight Keeper of Shadow who were servants created by the Mother Goddess of the Drow to house her soul and escape from being banished from the world of Talan’ith by the twin Gods. Was the last Keeper who survived for thousands of years she was part of the cycle for the shadow of their goddess renewal. Until a surfacer asked her to remove the influence of an outsider shadow god, Barra did that and more she took in the minor shadow god’s essence and enslaved the surfacer to the drow.

When the time came for the Mother Goddess to cycle into a the body of a shadow drow Zer’tin a drow from another world planted the idea that the cycle should end and the goddess come into her own. To do so would of met having to over power Barra who now had her own godly powers. Instead both the Drow Goddess and Barra were reborn as the Sisters - Barra Alti’ui and Lox’ceri.

The only survivor to witness the beginning of the rebirth was Ou’Ellar a shadow drowses and matron of the only surface house Talar'Elghinn controlled by Zer’tin. Ou’ became the first priestess and is called the Herald of the Sisters. Zer’tin killed himself to show the Sister’s his loyalty. Lox’ceri still seeing value in the ambitious male brought him back to life as a shadow drow and made him the one and only priest of the Sisters.

[The following is an excerpt from a RP story:

…Upon great wings that were made of torn shadows she rose up and started to sore towards the ceiling of the great chamber.

Ou’ could not stop her eyes from following Barra as she rose up. Then for a moment the young shadow-drowesses eyes looked up beyond Barra and at the hundreds of web encased crystalline bodies that covered the ceiling. Each one had been a drowess who had given her body to house the Mother Goddess. Their bodies had a bluish glowed inside them as the power stored within pulsated as if calling out with the slow passage of Barra. Her eyes again watched the Keeper of Shadows as she gracefully flew it was a beautiful sight to see against the glow of the fariefire.

The thousand drows below did not move as they prayed, not a one looked up as their death flew above their heads. Slowly Barra’s form hit its zenith and started downward gaining speed as it moved through both the physical and shadow planes. Then it swooped through a row of five drows. All of them screamed out then fell over dead their souls ripped from their bodies. Their bodies crumbled, turning to dust.

Barra swooped again and again through them, their screams echoing off the walls not dissipating as each drow died growing into a choir. After a half hour all the drows were dead and their screams echoing about the chamber like music to the Goddess’s ears.

Then Barra once again flew towards the platform and landed changing back into her shadow elf form, her eyes were blazing swirls of colors as the souls mixed within her, their screams still echoing in the chamber but blending more into a roar of agony as she walked towards Ou’…]
