Malinna. The Dark Lady’s power is growing, and she seeks to take what is rightfully ours. Stamp out her cultists wherever you find them, and avoid the eyes of the righteous, lest they turn to us. Stealth and wariness are our virtues, along with a quick tongue and quicker fingers. Wealth belongs to whoever is fast enough to take it.

| Description:
A fiery redhead, Malinna is self-possessed, confident, and fond of intricate plots. She is witty, cunning, and smart. It was her cult that founded the town of
Ravenslost, and it remains the central bastion of her power base. She is commonly referred to as the daughter of
Mal’oi, although no one knows if this is an accurate description, or who her mother was.

Lore:
Many rumors about Malinna abound and most have to do with her relationship with
Mal'oi. She is often described as his lover or as his spoiled daughter. There are some old texts that discuss the being that was Malinna's predecessor and are considered the closest thing to the truth that anyone can confirm. As for Malinna herself, those brave enough to ask her to her face are often laughed at and nearly always end up dead a short time later.
Her name was Rhoscenkatra and she was a water demon sometimes known as a water nymph. Rhoscenkatra was very powerful in her time and was considered on par with many primal forces of the world. It was no challenge at all for her to whip up vast storms on the seas and wipe out coastal areas with hurricanes when angry. In fair report, one must also state that she favored those that respected her power and showed respect for the ocean.
The most noted claim regarding her centers on her long affair with the God known as
Mal'oi. The significance of this is in contrast to the other two Gods who have never taken a known consort, much less indulged in a prolonged love affair. Malinna was said to be the product of this temporary union.
What happened to Rhoscenkatra is not clear. Some say Fan'taween had her killed. Some claim Arokasha sought Mal'oi's interest and had a part in her death - unlikely considering what followed. Others say that she was killed by Mal'oi himself out of jealousy over her straying to the pleasures of her favorite mortal Pirate Captains.

What is known is that for many generations, Rhoscenkatra was an Aspect of Mal'oi and his lover. She then disappeared and none of her clergy would speak of it; Falling into a 14 year cycle of mourning that ended suddenly, with no announcement and spontaneous celebration.
It seems Rhoscenkatra had a daughter named Malinna. In his grief, Mal'oi asked Silvius and Arokasha to see to her raising for much of her youth. The girl was granted the entirety of the power given her mother and became her fathers Aspect. In a move that disappointed him, she has chosen to remain in her current state and has not used her power to ascend. Her clergy say that she loves life too much to give up the thrill of possible injury and death.
The influences of her mother and father, and the two who often acted as her guardian in her youth (Silvius and Arokasha,) are clearly evident in her ideals and interests. It is rumored quietly that despite the constant competition for followers, both Silvius and Arokasha love the young girl as if she was one of their own and watch over her, since she refuses to use her powers to protect herself or give herself ability beyond her already formidable natural talents.
It is said she has not set foot on land other than within the city of Ravenslost or in one of her temples since becoming an Aspect of her father. It is also said that any ship that spies her personal ship is touched with unusually good luck for one year.... save the fact that she generally boards and pillages any ship that she spies in her telescope.
